Carlos was born to serve even before he knew himself or what to do with himself or his gift. Born into a single mother home on the Westside of Atlanta to Barbara ‘Momma’ Head, Carlos experienced massive “citywide’ success as a star athlete early in life, beginning at about 5. He also had the ability to think beyond his physical years on earth, often seeing and solving problems that otherwise would’ve gone unnoticed. Such gifts brought about early accolades for Carlos, including academically being tested, and categorized near-genius in the 7th grade.
But talent, accolades, and success wouldn’t be the overarching theme of Carlos’ life, young or old. No, he would experience his own share of difficulties and struggles, those self-induced, and those that are just a part of life happening in an imperfect world consumed by imperfect people. At age 9 or 10, his biological father told him that he could no longer be his father. At 13, he was having his 1st of about 9 knee surgeries, culminating with the last of two total knee replacements on the same leg. Needless to say that becoming a professional athlete was going to be problematic. He would also self-sabotage his educational path towards excellence with bad habits and bad decisions, which led to bad grades. Like so many facing difficult circumstances, whether self-imposed or not, he would continue down the path that eventually led to having to wear the proverbial Scarlet Letter of felon at the age of 18. Carlos had been and was making decisions that certainly wasn’t in his best interest at the time; although he’s come to know that all things work together for our good. All things present us with the opportunity to grow and be better versions of ourselves.
It was once said, ‘It’s not what happens to us that determines our destinies; but rather, how we deal with and handle the things that show up in our lives.’ And thanks to a ton of grace and mercy, Carlos hadn’t lost his ability to hear and process information ‘to think.’ He had allowed a lack of directions, goals, discipline, and a lot of bad habits, and bad thinking to lead him into a darkness so deep that he was diagnosed with clinical depression, with suicidal ideations. But he could still hear the God or universal good that’s within us all, the good that he would speak to himself, and the good being spoken by others. And mixed into all of that, He was a moderately successful small business owner, coach, student of God and life, and Teacher and Pastor. He was also someone who knew that he was just as much his solution as he had been his problem, a person doggishly committed to growing and getting better, intellectually, spiritually, financially, physically, and in his impact on others.
And he had to navigate those experiences, including his 7 brain surgeries, spine surgery, 2 knee replacements, 7 seizures, wrist surgeries of both arms, and ADHD. All this information is included to highlight how God had made him to become a lot of different things and overcome a lot of different experiences to ensure he would be able to see, hear, and understand people. God knew that he needed to understand people at the top and perceived bottom to be able to effectively serve and communicate with people of all human labels. What makes it obvious that Carlos was born to serve is that he truly wants humans to win inside-out, spiritually, in their health, financially, and in their relationships and impact on others. He knows that his work is not about his own accolades, but about helping humans, of all labels to be the best humans they can possibly be.
Having been bigger, smarter, more athletic, and confident than his peers, he would often find himself sought after for answers and solutions, from people his age and older. Not always conscious of his responsibility to lead people to the light and not darkness, preparation for him included experiences and regrets of having led people into decisions that weren’t about their good. But this is his story, in what paved the way for him to use his gifts and abilities to lead humanity to God, their best as humans, the building of a more equitable world that benefits good people of all labels, and to inside-out personal wealth without someone having to lose for someone else to win.
Having been given God’s universal truths meant to provide a foundation that guides human thought and behavior, Carlos has maintained an insatiable desire to provide people of all backgrounds simple truths meant to set us free from the thoughts and behaviors that are destroying us, individually and collectively.
Through what Carlos calls an amazing life of life being life, he has always endeavored to create ways that help us be the best versions of ourselves, as humans. With a determination to help people, and a heart to see, feel, and hear people beyond their human labels, Carlos is committed to leading the way in helping the blind to see, the sick to be healed, and the divided to be united.
Carlos’ experiences have helped shape his perspectives of God, life, humanity, our capacity and connectedness, and our universal sense of good and evil. The diversity of people encountered, coupled with a real sense to see, understand, and help people, allows Carlos’ to see and communicate with the human heart, underneath our human labels. God has blessed Carlos with a unique ability to speak a simple, easy to understand universal language of good and evil that’s transferrable in all languages, in helping people know God and His 7 Great Truths, be their best selves, and build a better world that benefits good people of all labels.
What helps Carlos communicate with people is his understanding of God, beyond names and religion; and the understanding that we’re all equally connected to God, regardless of human labels, beliefs, conditions, or time dispensations. He teaches people that we’re all the legitimate children of the God that creates humans, and to be the best human we can be to ourselves, others, and our planet, as the expectation of God. Seeing himself just as a human in this diverse world of other humans, that all belong to the one human family, Carlos is able to not make himself bigger than the message or Messenger that sent him here with a message to share with humanity.
Some people delight in scoring touchdowns, goals, baskets, gaining prominent titles, fame, or fortune; and Carlos believes that we all should possess all the right desires of our hearts. Yet, what brings the greatest delight to Carlos is seeing the light of understanding, freedom, of truth, and direction come on in people they can use in becoming better versions of themselves. And Carlos teaches an inside-out approach to success; which says that the better the inside, the better the seed, the better the thought, the better the action and outcome. He helps people to strike a balance between accountability, and grace and mercy, in an imperfect world consumed by imperfect people.
